Products & Intended Use

CoinVerify products are physical coin-screening tools designed to compare characteristics such as diameter, thickness, weight reference and, where applicable, magnetic response against the expected specifications of a particular coin.

Our products are intended to assist collectors, investors and dealers in identifying coins that may require further investigation. They are not professional assay equipment and are not a substitute for XRF analysis or other professional authentication methods.

Passing all applicable CoinVerify checks provides an indication that a coin conforms to the physical specifications being tested. It does not constitute a guarantee that the coin is genuine or that its precious-metal content or purity is correct.

Sophisticated counterfeits may potentially reproduce some or all of the physical characteristics tested. Where authenticity or metal composition needs to be established conclusively, professional examination such as XRF analysisshould be considered.

Responsibility for Coin Authentication

CoinVerify accepts no responsibility for financial loss arising solely from reliance on a CoinVerify screening result when buying, selling, valuing or otherwise dealing with a coin.

The final decision regarding a coin's authenticity remains the responsibility of the owner, purchaser or seller. A coin that passes a CoinVerify screening test should not be regarded as definitively authenticated solely on that basis.

Likewise, a coin that fails a check is not automatically counterfeit. Genuine coins can exhibit variations caused by factors including age, wear, minting tolerances or damage. Any questionable result should be investigated further.

Accuracy & Specifications

Our testers are designed using the published or otherwise researched specifications available for the coins they are intended to screen.

We make every reasonable effort to manufacture our products accurately and consistently. However, coins themselves may exhibit legitimate variations, and specifications can vary between years, mints, designs and issues.

Customers should therefore ensure that they are using the correct CoinVerify tester and test position for the particular coin being examined.

Order Processing & Despatch

We always aim to prepare and despatch orders as quickly as possible and, where possible, orders will be posted on the same working day. However, CoinVerify is a small independent business and, due to other work and personal commitments, same-day despatch cannot be guaranteed.

During particularly busy periods or when circumstances prevent same-day processing, despatch may occasionally take a few additional working days. Customers will be notified where we expect any significant delay.

Once despatched, delivery times are subject to the postal or courier service used and are outside of our direct control.

We appreciate your patience and support of our small UK business.

Returns & 14-Day Cancellation

For purchases made online, you may normally cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, subject to the applicable exclusions and conditions under UK consumer law.

If you wish to return an unwanted product, please contact us within this period. Returned products should be kept in good condition and packaged appropriately.

If your order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can arrange an appropriate replacement, refund or other remedy.

These terms do not limit your statutory rights in relation to faulty, misdescribed or unsatisfactory goods.

3-Month CoinVerify Warranty

In addition to your statutory rights, CoinVerify products are supplied with our 3-month warranty from the date of delivery.

This covers manufacturing defects and damage resulting from reasonable normal use during the warranty period. Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, we will normally repair or replace the affected product at no additional charge.

The warranty does not cover deliberate damage, misuse, excessive force, modification, accidental damage or damage caused by using the product for a purpose for which it was not designed.

Our 3-month warranty is an additional benefit and does not replace or restrict your statutory consumer rights.

Product Images & Coins

Unless expressly stated otherwise, coins, weighing scales and other demonstration items shown in product photographs are not included. Please refer to the individual product description for details of exactly what is supplied.

Magnets

Some CoinVerify products contain or are supplied with strong magnets. Magnets should be handled carefully and kept away from young children and items that may be affected by magnetic fields.

The magnetic test is an additional screening method only. A coin showing no attraction to the supplied magnet is not automatically genuine, as many counterfeit materials are also non-magnetic.

Website Information

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications and guidance published on CoinVerify are accurate. We may occasionally update information as new products, coin specifications or improved testing methods become available.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom, and nothing within them is intended to restrict any rights afforded to consumers under applicable consumer protection legislation.
